The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the importance of promoting Indian culture and values in schools. The NEP recognizes the need for children to have a strong foundation in their cultural heritage and traditions, while also being able to appreciate and respect the diversity of India. NEP 2020 seeks to create a system of education that is rooted in Indian culture and values while also preparing students for the globalized world.
By promoting Bharatiyata in schools, the NEP aims to create a generation of students who are proud of their cultural heritage and also equipped to succeed in the 21st century.
Samvit Research Foundation, Bengaluru, with one of its missions being creation of Bharat-centric resources and dissemination of Indian Knowledge System, is in alignment with the objectives of NEP-2020. With the aim of spreading the rich cultural heritage of our country, through celebration of Indian festivals in schools, Samvit has designed a Module for the purpose, namely, SAMVIT UTSAVA BHARATI.
In this Module, a Teacher’s guide has been created to facilitate the teachers in effectively conducting these festivals in schools. These well conducted festivals encourage and enable students to imbibe India’s rich cultural heritage, understand the significance of these festivals, and develop a sense of unity and harmony. It also fosters a spirit of inclusiveness among students and makes them appreciate the different shades of our unique culture.
